Sadsbury Township is holding its annual Community Day on August 20, 2016, from 10:00am to 3:00pm in Bert Reel Park. There will be a dedication ceremony at 10:30am to open a brand new playground, followed by hourly activities for children and adults. Attractions include music, bounce houses, face painting, food and displays.

The Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors met on December 23, 2015 to appoint a new supervisor to fill the seat left vacant after the resignation of Stephanie Silvernail. Vice Chair Earl Taylor proposed the appointment of longtime resident Dale Hensel (of Hensel's Mower Service) and Supervisor Tom Greenfield concurred. Hensel previously served on the Board of Supervisors for six years until 2008.

November 4, 2015

Anthony Schuibbeo defeated incumbent Tom Greenfield to win a seat on the Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors. Although both Republicans, Greenfield ran on the Democratic ticket after being defeated in the Republican primary. Schuibbeo, a resident of the township since 2009, is a licensed Realtor and a Chester County deputy sheriff.

According to an article in the Philadelphia Business Journal, Whole Foods has signed a lease for the old Kmart property adjacent to Exton Square Mall. The old building will be demolished, and a new 55,000 square foot building will be constructed to house the grocery store.

The old Bottom Dollar store in Valley Township has now been replaced by an ALDI. Customers familiar with the old store will find themselves at home in the new one. Unlike Bottom Dollar, ALDI has grocery bags available for sale if customers do not bring their own.

Coatesville Area School District has continued its recent rise in the Pennsylvania school rankings assessed by the Pittsburgh Business Journal, according to the Coatesville Times. The district is now ranked 413th out of 493. In 2013 and 2014, the district ranked 431 and 417 respectively.
